Sheffield United’s Winning Run Ends at West Brom but Relegation Risk Remains Low
Sheffield United’s recent run of form came to an end with a 2–0 defeat away at West Bromwich Albion, bringing a halt to the momentum built by Chris Wilder’s side.
The loss slowed the Blades’ climb away from the Championship relegation zone, but statistical analysis suggests there is little immediate danger of them being dragged back into trouble.
According to Opta’s supercomputer, Sheffield United currently have just a 3.12% chance of relegation this season — one of the lowest probabilities among teams in the bottom half.
By comparison, Oxford United are predicted to have a 34.96% chance of relegation, while Swansea City are expected to finish safely in mid-table. The data suggests that while promotion ambitions may be challenging, United’s short-term stability is not under serious threat.
