A 16-year-old boy was shot on London Road in Sheffield on Monday, 24 November, and remains in hospital in a critical, life-threatening condition. South Yorkshire Police closed part of the road and launched a major investigation, with increased patrols now in place to reassure the community.
Two boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested earlier in the week on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. Both have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue. A 26-year-old man was then arrested in Aberdeen on suspicion of attempted murder, and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender. They remain in custody.
Chief Superintendent Jamie Henderson, Sheffield’s district commander, praised the community for its unity and urged residents to work with officers. He said safe communities are built through people standing together, not through violence, and pledged that police will do everything possible to deliver justice for the victim and his family.
