South Yorkshire Police have visited the homes of three children believed to have been involved in setting off fireworks at buildings and passers-by on Halloween night across Abbeydale Road, London Road and Sharrow Lane.
The incidents, reported between 10.50pm and 11pm on 31 October, saw fireworks launched toward properties and people, prompting numerous calls to police and footage shared on social media.
Officers have since identified three children linked to the incidents and are issuing Parental Advisory Letters and Acceptable Behaviour Contracts to their parents or guardians.
Police confirmed that no injuries or property damage were reported but said the behaviour caused “significant alarm and distress” to local residents.
“We take this kind of behaviour very seriously, particularly when it puts members of the public at risk. Officers have identified three young people and are working with their parents to ensure appropriate action and intervention.”
— South Yorkshire Police spokesperson
Police patrols in the Abbeydale and London Road areas have been increased as part of a wider crackdown on antisocial behaviour linked to fireworks.
