Business and community leaders will spend a night outdoors in Sheffield this autumn to raise funds and awareness for homelessness.
The CEO Sleepout Sheffield will take place on Sunday, November 10, at the Steel City Stadium at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
Among those taking part are South Yorkshire Mayor Oliver Coppard, triple Olympic cycling champion Ed Clancy, and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce CEO Gary Nutter.
The event will raise money for three local charities working on the frontline of homelessness:
-
Roundabout
-
The Cathedral Archer Project
-
Nomad Opening Doors
Organisers say the fundraiser comes at a critical time, as homelessness in Sheffield has reached historic levels. An estimated 1,513 people were classed as homeless in the city last year, including 581 children.
