Driver guilty of murdering 16-year-old in Darnall
A 21-year-old driver has been found guilty of murdering a 16-year-old boy after mounting the pavement and striking him with a car in Sheffield.
Abdullah Yaser Abdullah Taleb died when he was hit by an Audi driven by Zulkernain Ahmed on Staniforth Road in the Darnall area on 4 June.
Sheffield Crown Court heard the vehicle moved onto the wrong side of the road before being steered onto the pavement, where Abdullah was walking.
Prosecutors said the car had been used as a “weapon” while targeting riders following a dispute involving e-bikes.
Ahmed was also found guilty of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
His brother, Armaan Ahmed, was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter and an alternative charge of wounding. Adam Mohammed was cleared of all charges.
Sentencing will take place at a later date.
