Sheffield’s Radio Essentials has been on air across Sheffield and South Yorkshire since February 2023 bringing everything local, from news and events to great music and community stories.

We’re proud to be Sheffield’s only truly local commercial radio station created and run right here in the city for the people of South Yorkshire.

Our Mission

We’re a Sheffield SME on a mission to save local radio and rebuild community connection in the digital age.

Our goal is to become South Yorkshire’s most trusted source of local information, while playing the best mix of music from the 70s through to today’s biggest hits — including South Yorkshire legends like The Human League, ABC, Pulp, Reverend & The Makers, and Arctic Monkeys.
