Waverley Primary Academy in Waverley, a primary school in the area, has expanded to accommodate an additional 200 pupils this year due to the expanding community. The expansion includes six new classrooms, two libraries, new restrooms, a dedicated nursery with changing rooms and office space. Funding for the expansion was provided by the Harworth Group, the group behind regeneration work in the surrounding area. The school is located on the site of the former Orgreave Colliery and is located in the growing community with over 1,800 homes, green spaces, and a local high street.
